  Hello everyone. Haven't been around for a very long time.
  I do have a question though. What do JW's say when another witness passes away?
  Do they say I'm sorry, or Rest in Peace, or condolences or anything like that?

  I've been out of the org for such a long time, I'm not up on what is permitted or what is forbidden.

  Why do we call Jehovah by his first name and not our parents?

  i owe this question entirely to hadit but i cannot get this thought out of my head.

  all i heard growing up was that we have to call god jehovah because they are many god's, this way jehovah knows we are trying to speak to him.

  that is just one of many reasons the fds and wt say to why we much call him jehovah.

  Agreed. We called each other Brother or Sister So and So instead of by their first names in the KH. Calling them by their first name was considered disrespectful.
  But, what about the shortened version of Jehovah that the JW's like to use? I always thought calling him "Jah" (as in...praise Jah with me) was disrespectful. We can call the Heavenly Father by a nickname of sorts, but we can't call each other by their first names in the KH.

  Start by having your replacement battery checked. I've bought new batteries before that had a bad cell. It happens.

  Check that before you have to plonk down money for a rebuilt alternator.
